Through Stained Glass: Thursday Thoughts on a Friday Afternoon

You are the beloved. G*d delights in you. In this life and the one to come, you belong to the Holy One in Three. In Them, you move, live, and have your being. Nothing—and I mean nothing—and so does Saint Paul [Romans 8]—nothing can ever separate you from the love of G*d.

Read that again, please.

Your beginning and ending are beloved.

Always. Forever. Amen and amen.

That's the thought for this Thursday.

The clip below is one we watched this last Wednesday at Kirk Night. I invite you to take time and listen to the late theologian and saint Rachel Held Evans preach perhaps the most profound, simple sermon on baptism you'll ever hear.

The Holy One is pleased with you. The Holy One declares you Their beloved. Beloved. Beloved! BELOVED!

See you Sunday, beloveds, as we celebrate the sacrament of communion and covenant with them, and we will do all we can to remind them and help them live into their belovedness!
